All you want to know

Types of eyelash extensions

Lash extensions are artificial fibers that are individually attached to your natural eyelashes using a special adhesive. They are designed to enhance the length, curl, fullness, and thickness of your natural lashes, creating a more voluminous and dramatic appearance.

Lash extensions come in various materials, such as synthetic, mink, silk, or hybrid blends, and can be customised to achieve different looks, from natural to glamorous. Unlike traditional strip lashes, lash extensions are semi-permanent and can last several weeks with proper care and maintenance. They are a popular choice for those looking to add definition and depth to their eyes without the hassle.

Over the past 12 years of crafting eyelash extensions we have tried all popular fibre types and various lash products, and now offer only a premium range of lashing to ensure a healthier and easier application for all.

We will never use an untested product; our promise to you.

For us, our client’s health and safety is vitally important. We plan the quantity of lashes carefully when creating the clients desired look, bearing in mind the weight of the natural lash.

A human natural lash can only take a maximum of 1.5 times the weight of the artificial lash.

We prioritise eye health above all else because we genuinely care about our clients. That's why we don't compromise on quality by offering quick and cheap solutions. Instead, we prioritize excellence and craftsmanship to ensure the utmost safety and satisfaction. Our goal is to provide an exclusive lash extension service that reflects our commitment to quality and our dedication to our clients' well-being.

All our eyelashes and products are British branded. We are proud to support local businesses.

The main material used for all lash extensions is Polybutylene terephthalate (PBT). All our lashes have been sterilised to disinfect and create an easy bond surface.

Lash Centre uses 50-75% lighter weight fibres now on compared to other marketplaces and standing out from other salons, as they are bespoke.

On average we will extend:

Anti-bacterial test

Our lashes have undergone the anti-bacterial test to the test standard AATCC147: 2011.

This experiment is to monitor the growth of inoculum of aureus solution on lash sample at 37C. Due to the new formula of the lash material, it could prevent bacterial growth on the lash surface.

The test results show that there was no bacterial growth on the contact area after 24 hours. Hence the lashes showing antibacterial activity.

Eyelash Extension Adhesive

MAIN INGREDIENTS

Eyelash Extension glue is 80% Cyanoacrylate, which cures with even the slightest amount of moisture.

According to Wikipedia: “In general, cyanoacrylate is an acrylic resin that rapidly polymerises in the presence of water (specifically hydroxide ions), forming long, strong chains, joining the bonded surfaces together. As the presence of moisture causes the glue to set, exposure to normal levels of humidity in the air causes a thin skin to start to form within seconds, which greatly slows the reaction. Because of this cyanoacrylate is applied thinly, to ensure that the reaction proceeds rapidly and a strong bond is formed within a reasonable time.”

There are three main types:

  • Ethyl:  Cosmetic grade, widely used as eyelash extension glue. Fast curing, odour, good adhesion. No solvent. Good water resistant after fully cured.
  • Ethoaxyethyl: Cosmetic grade, slow curing, low irritation, low odour. No solvent. Elastic and waterproof once cured.
  • Butyl:  Both cosmetic and medical grade, weak fumes and a slower curing rate. The least irritant.  No solvent, more flexible. Widely used in the medical industry to close wounds.

Except the main ingredient, eyelash extension glue has been carefully formulated with a balance thickener, pigment stabiliser and accelerator.

𝘌𝘤𝘰-Extensions at lash centre

What do we mean?

This is what I call eyelash extensions that will not affect the growth of your eyelashes, which can be performed constantly without interruption for recovery. You can always stop to extend them and continue to apply mascara or perform a lash lift.

The eyelash line will always remain healthy, without damage or bald spots and without distortion of the growth trajectory.

The need to have a break from eyelash extensions is a delusion of some clients and myths of technicians who justify it because of harm caused by incorrect or low quality practices.

It is necessary to constantly keep the correct load on the natural eyelashes, not to over extend them with heavy weight. It is a must to correctly choose how to eco-extend each natural lash by specific application.

There is no standard template for each client.

Lash Centre fully upgraded the stock to eco-extensions. uses premium quality light synthetic fibres, weighting around 75% less than other marketplace lashes. Our artificial eyelashes are made by a leading artisan brand of fine craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail.

All extended lashes will be intelligently effective, gentle to natural lashes and long-lasting.  In this case, you can extend eyelashes for many years without a break, like many of my existing clients do.

After all, I've been doing this since 2012  I use a deep expertise about the harmlessness of this procedure. That's what I keep insisting on.

Eco-extensions at Lash Centre are tailored to each lash and every time at your appointment according to the condition of your natural lash hairs and eyelids.

*From April 2023 Lash Centre will slowly discontinue old market fibres to be replaced by eco-fibres.

2023 is a new step forward for healthy lashes. Lash Centre will only use 50-75% lighter weight
